Since 1982 the IER – Institute for economic research of the public Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano/Bozen has been observing the economic development of the South Tyrolean economy as well as the economic phenomena affecting our country. Therefore, the IER conducts application-oriented studies and analyses, without profit motives. The range of topics includes the labour market, education, public finances, growth and innovation, regional development and sustainability.
The information elaborated by the IER enables the Chamber of Commerce, departments of the Provincial Administration as well as companies and business associations to make more conscious socio-economic decisions.
The IER is also a counterpart for the media, teachers and students, and aims to raise public awareness of economic issues and to promote entrepreneurial thinking among young people.
