Since 1982, IER - the Institute for Economic Research of the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano/Bozen - has been analysing the economic development of South Tyrol. Through practice-oriented
studies and analyses, IER explores a broad range of economic topics, spanning labour markets, education and public finance, as well as growth, innovation, regional development and sustainability.
The information produced by IER provides a sound basis for informed decision-making. Policymakers, business associations, companies, public institutions and the Chamber of Commerce itself benefit from reliable data and independent analysis. In addition, IER serves as an important point of reference for the media and the wider public by helping to interpret and communicate economic developments in a clear and accessible way.
Through its
School-Economy service, IER encourages upper secondary and vocational school students to engage with economic issues and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Through the
Talentcenter, it supports middle school students in identifying their strengths and talents, helping them make informed choices about their educational and career paths.
